Myrtle’s mother is an opera singer, and she used to bring young Myrtle to local concerts while performing in local plays and church choirs. She earned a break to act on the big screen when the US film industry relocated from New York to Los Angeles. Myrtle Gonzalez died at the age of twenty-seven as she suffered a premature death due to the Spanish flu pandemic on October 22nd, 1918.

Myrtle Gonzalez’s life was changed when, at the age of fourteen, while meeting a traveling vaudeville troupe who had visited the school for a performance. Then, she convinced her parents to take part in the troupe as an assistant. They gave her a chance to perform in local theaters around Los Angeles, thus molding her skill as an actress. She became capable of dancing in various dance styles as she took dancing lessons. When she was twenty-one, she made her debut film called “The Immigrant,” in which she played a supporting role.
